In the News: Madonna Launching Macy's Line

Madonna is getting ready to launch her new fashion line, Material Girl, in 200 Macy's stores August 3. "I like the idea that the line is being sold at Macy's because Macy's has the major accessibility factor across America," said Madonna. "It's {the line} is not complicated. It's dressing in layers. It's not looking like you took too much time thinking about what you're wearing."

The Material Girl collection includes apparel, footwear, handbags, jewelry and hair accessories, with most items retailing for between $12 and $40

Shopista Steal: Pleasure Doing Business

I love bandage skirts by Pleasure Doing Business. They are a wardrobe staple, and no one makes these skirts as flatteringly. And right now this Pleasure Doing Business 'Four Band Mini' is on sale ($60 down from $99) on Revolve Clothing. It is prefect worn dressed down with a tee and flats, and looks great at night with a blouse and sky-high heels.

Making Preppy Work

Prefect for the Hamptons, Jolie & Elizabeth is a new line that draws inspiration from New Orleans. "The dresses of Jolie and Elizabeth surpass forced trends that overlook the purpose of a dress."

Their preppy collection makes seereucker work for almost anyone. One of my favorite dresses is the 'Adelaid' Dress ($163.00) that has a lovely sweetheart neckline, and is done in a classic, light weight, cotton seersucker stripe. The line ranges in price from $38-$216 and is definitely worth checking out!

KNT by Kova & T

I love this Urban Outfitters' KNT by Kova & T 'Pleated Mary Dress' ($98.00). It looks very similar to United Bamboo's 'Smocking Dress', but it is half the cost, and I personally think it's cuter. It has a feminine look that can be dressed up or paired with flats, and is the prefect summer frock.

Talk About Versatility

I saw this fabulous dress today on The Zoe Report - The 'Convertible Rope Dress' by Electric Feathers ($540.00) - It can seriously be worn so many different ways including a halter dress, strapless, one shoulder, belted etc... the possibilities are endless.

It looks great dressed up with pumps, but also worn casually with flats or sandals.

Sperry Top-Sider

Sperry's are a staple, classic shoe in my closet - they are so easy to throw on, super comfortable, and stylish (especially with the nautical trend this summer). Two of my favorite new pairs this summer are the 'Mattituck Slip-On' ($90.00), and the 'Montauk Slip-On' ($90.00). These two in particular have a little more of a feminine feel, and look great with jeans and shorts.

DVF Interior Designer?

DVF has signed on to design rooms at London's Claridge hotel. Her famous prints will add touches to everything including desks, cocktail bars, paint, and curtains in the 20 hotel suites. The rooms will even feature photographs taken by DVF during her travels.

"The approached me because, two years ago, I shoed a collection in Florence, which had one line inspired by the grand lobby of Claridge's," said the designer. "I had already designed a line of rugs and home-furnishing fabrics, so I thought it would be a great idea to decorate the hotel." The rooms are available to guests June 23rd.

Check out this Ad for Alexander McQueen Eyewear, Spring 2010! It definitely catches your eye, and is unlike any other ad I have seen. From my perspective it takes a little away from the eyewear, but definitely makes a statement! What do you think?
