Spring/Summer 2010 Hair Trends

I have to say that I am a pretty basic wavy or straight hair person, but check out some of the fun styles that have been gracing the runways and sure to be a hit this spring/summer (seen in the UK's March issue of Marie Claire). Most of the styles seem pretty easy to replicate yourself, and definitely leave room for a little personal style.

Wavy hair continues to be popular, including the 'Tousled Beach' look seen at Chloe. And similarly, Christian Dior was all about 1940's waves with a side part and era makeup "for the full femme fatale effect."

Braids are also a style we have seen before, and come in all shapes and sizes. Paul Smith's models rocked the sharp and sculptural braids, whereas Alexander Wang and Mui Mui leaned toward the loose braid (my favorite) worn on the side or down the back (remember to part on the opposite side).

The tousled top knot (seen below at Fendi) is a casual-cool and deconstructed version of the loose high bun. Similarly is the low tousled chignon seen on Karl Lagerfeld's Sping 2010 catwalk where "rough pieces of hair were pinned in place for a messy, textured look." It has a very romantic feel.
